Clarissa Krieck is NCIA’s Director of Business Development focused on engaging sponsoring members in order to support the growth of the organization and our industry. Prior to joining the cannabis movement in 2011, Clarissa worked for over a decade in non-profit management with a focus on cross-cultural, bilingual education and training. Her first role in the industry was as a Sales Representative with Bluebird Botanicals, where she assisted with domestic and international business development efforts. Clarissa joined the board of Denver NORML at this time and went to Washington, D.C. twice to lobby on behalf of consumers. In 2015, she joined the team at Indo Expo Trade Show as a Marketing and Sponsorship Manager, which allowed her to deepen her experience in large scale trade shows. Clarissa joined NCIA’s team in 2019, and is thrilled to be able to impact federal policy reform through her work at NCIA. She is a community volunteer with the City of Denver Expungement and Equity efforts. Clarissa is also a founding member of the Brazilian Society for Cannabis Research (SBEC), the first association in South America set out to train medical professionals and foment research in the academic space. Clarissa holds a B.A. in Business Administration and a Master’s in Nonprofit Management. She enjoys live music, travel, yoga, and volunteering in the community.
