Fireside Chats with NCIA’s Government Relations Team: Rolling Back or Rolling Up – Green Wave in 2023?
NCIA’s #IndustryEssentials webinar series is our premier digital educational platform featuring a variety of interactive programs allowing us to provide you timely, engaging and essential education when you need it most. The Fireside Chat series of NCIA’s #IndustryEssentials webinars are an exclusive quarterly opportunity for NCIA members to hear from our government relations team and guests about the latest developments in federal policy LIVE.
Federal cannabis policy has been a mixed bag in 2022. The SAFE Banking Act continues to be held up in the Senate while legislators negotiate what the future of that bill looks like. There also has been no substantive movement on CAOA, or other comprehensive reform bills. However, the Biden Administration recently shocked the industry with his unprecedented announcement that his administration would begin the process of working with the Department of Health and Human Services to reclassify marijuana from a Schedule I drug in the Controlled Substances Act.
What does this mean for the future of the cannabis industry, and what can we expect from the administration as well as the incoming 118th Congress? Join NCIA’s Director of Government Relations, Michael Correia, and Deputy Director of Government Relations, Michelle Rutter Frieberg, for an in-depth discussion recapping these developments, while also looking forward to 2023. Don’t miss your chance to gather virtually with your fellow NCIA members and participate LIVE in this conversation with NCIA’s team of government relations experts.
