Headline: First “Juana Career” Fair draws hundreds of qualified candidates interested in cannabis

juana2SEATTLE, WA, September 26, 2016 – Viridian Staffing, the cannabis industry’s first and best known professional staffing and recruiting firm held its inaugural career fair last weekend under the banner of its new “Juana Career” brand.

The first ‘Juana Career’ Fair provided an opportunity for producers, processors, labs, as well as a number of non-profits and ancillary firms, over 15 exhibitors in total, to tap into the deep pool of talent Viridian Staffing has been cultivating in Washington state for years. Exhibitors included such notable industry leaders as Have a Heart, Solstice, Dockside, Evergreen Herbal, New Leaf Enterprises, and Eden Labs, among others.

Based on feedback, the vast majority of exhibitors found the event to be well-organized and professional and the candidates who attended to be more plentiful, experienced and diverse than expected. All exhibitor respondents rated their experience as highly satisfactory, none reported leaving the event without potential hires and 90% indicated they would definitely participate in the future. All respondents reported identifying prospective candidates for entry-level positions, and a majority claimed to have found solid candidates for their mid-level and specialized openings as well.

juanacareer-alwaysgreenerThe consensus among respondents was that the event saved their companies approximately 2 weeks-worth of recruiting and interviewing. “It’s one thing to hype an event and fill a room with random people with a general interest in the cannabis industry, it’s quite another to curate a diverse pool of qualified candidates, who aren’t going to waste our exhibitors’ time. With well over a decade of professional recruiting experience, we know how to do that,” remarked Kara Bradford, Viridian Staffing’s Chief Talent Officer.

In addition to the career fair itself, attendees were treated to a Career Readiness Workshop as well as a special keynote address and panel discussion with leading cannabis industry media personality, Shango Los, former host of the groundbreaking Ganjaprenuer podcast and current host of Shaping Fire. Over 95% of attendees rated their experience from good to outstanding and stated that they would recommend it to a friend. A clear majority of respondents indicated they walked away inspired, better informed and hopeful of an interview with a company they met. Attendees described the event as: “Enlightening!” “A fantastic networking opportunity!” “It gave me direction and hope.”

Founded in 2013, Viridian Staffing was the cannabis industry’s first professional staffing & recruiting firm. Viridian Staffing serves producers, processors, retailers and ancillaries coast-to-coast in North America. (www.ViridianStaffing.com) (www.Juana.Careers)
