McAllister Law Office, P.C. is hiring additional lawyers in Colorado and Southern California. The Firm is a full service six-lawyer law firm that pioneers legal strategies and services for the marijuana industry. Beginning with the very first marijuana businesses that emerged in 2009, the Firm has represented hundreds of medical and recreational dispensaries, grows, infused-product manufacturers, and testing laboratories. The Firm currently represents some of the leading marijuana companies in Colorado and nationwide and represents a large number of ancillary and related businesses.
Founding lawyer Sean McAllister recently passed the California bar exam in anticipation of the full legalization of marijuana in California in November 2016 and the Firm’s Colorado practice continues to grow. The Firm plans to open an office in Southern California in the next 12 months and hire at least one lawyer to manage the Firm’s new office in California. As a result, the Firm is hiring at least one and possibly more lawyers in both Colorado and California to keep pace with its growth. The Firm is accepting applications for one or more of the following types of lawyer:
1. Real estate lawyers
2. Corporate/transaction lawyers
3. Lawyers with experience in resolving tax disputes or audits with IRS and other taxing authorities
4. Civil litigators with experience with commercial disputes and business breakups
5. Land use lawyers with local experience in Denver, San Diego, and/or Los Angeles
Qualifications: The Firm is seeking lawyers with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience, but will consider exceptional candidates with 5 to 7 years of experience.
Compensation: Compensation will depend on the applicant’s experience, book of existing business, and experience in or connection to the marijuana industry. Beyond a salary, the Firm is open to granting profit sharing and shareholder status to exceptionally qualified candidates who bring a strong book of business to the Firm.
