OXFORD, FLORIDA, OCT. 13, 2020 — As the demand for cannabis edibles continues to grow and manufacturers ramp up production, most producers continue to put the quality and safety of their products above all.
To support these responsible edibles producers, ImEPIK has launched the Part I of its two-part Cannabis Edibles Safety Course© series.
“ImEPIK has a reputation for providing engaging food safety training that gives production employees the technical knowledge they need to make safe products,” said Jill Droge, ImEPIK’s Chief Creative and Business Development Officer. “It’s more difficult than ever to make time for training, yet it is one of the most impactful things that manufacturers can do to ensure that their products are safe and will be well received by the market.”
Part I: GMPs and the Pyramid of Edible Safety is for employees who are new to the production of cannabis-infused edibles or who need a refresher on the basics. It will be followed by Part II, which is for managers and supervisors, in early November.
Part I is three modules and lays out why a food safety system is the most suitable framework for cannabis-infused edibles, as well as covering food safety specific to cannabis edibles
production. The importance of prerequisite programs, GMPs and the principles of hazard analysis are also included, as is an introduction to ImEPIK’s Pyramid of Edible Safety©.
“It is ImEPIK’s mission to create quality food safety training and to present it in a format that is both more convenient and is designed to adapt to the needs of today’s learners,” said Kathryn Birmingham, Ph.D. ImEPIK’s Chief Operating Officer. “We are grateful to the industry panel that beta tested the course. ANAB Votes to Grant PJRFSI Accreditation for Cannabis Certification
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MAY 4, 2020 – WASHINGTON, DC
Perry Johnson Registrars Food Safety, Inc. (PJRFSI) has officially become the first certification body to be granted Accreditation for cannabis certification in the United States by ANAB. The independent cannabis certification standard developed by PJRFSI is a GMP- and GAP-based scheme intended to help cannabis growers, manufacturers, and retailers meet the range of state-by-state requirements.
This standard aims to provide needed outlines for cannabis cultivation, product manufacture, and retail practices nationwide. As each state determines the status of cannabis legality within their jurisdiction, certification requirements can be haphazard. With the release and accreditation of their standard, PJRFSI hopes to simplify and unite the United States cannabis industry for the benefit of everyone from grower to producer to end user.
PJRFSI President Terry Boboige and Accreditation Manager Lauren Maloney have expressed great excitement for what accreditation means for not only PJRFSI, but for the cannabis industry at large:
“The team at Perry Johnson Registrars Food Safety Inc. is incredibly excited to be the first company in the United States to achieve formal accreditation for our Cannabis and Hemp Certification Program. We believe this nationally-recognized program will help the budding cannabis and hemp industries to strengthen, legitimize, and separate themselves from companies that do not have formal certification. Certification to this standard will forever help enhance companies’ image, credibility, and reliability. Accredited certification exemplifies to the public that certified organizations who supply cannabis and hemp products and services have internal safety systems that can inspire confidence.”

InSpire Transpiration Solutions to Host Cultivation Webinar Series
InSpire Transpiration Solutions to Host Cultivation Webinar Series
Leading HVAC solutions company will discuss how cultivators can uncover profitability
through an understanding of cannabis plant culture
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – April 29, 2020 – InSpire Transpiration Solutions, an HVAC products and services provider focused on controlled environment horticulture to optimize product quality, is excited to announce a new webinar series exploring important topics for cannabis cultivators. The series will focus on the concept of cultural control, the practice of modifying an indoor growing environment to maximize photosynthetic outputs and reduce the prevalence of unwanted pests and pathogens. Cultural control is an important part of a cultivation operation’s environmental control strategy, and is directly related to managing factors like grow room temperature, relative humidity, CO2 levels and regulating pests.
The webinars will feature discussions on how cultivators can optimize product quality and increase profitability through a deep understanding of cannabis climate control plant culture. “The 10 Cardinal Parameters of Plant Health and Vitality” is the first event in the series, and will take place on Thursday, May 7 at 10:00 a.m. PT.
“Successful cannabis cultivation depends on many variables, including an intimate understanding of your plants that goes beyond basic needs for growth,” said Adrian Giovenco, CEO of InSpire Transpiration Solutions. “A consistent cultural and environmental control strategy can help cultivators maximize plant genetics, optimize product quality and yield, and influence overall plant health and vitality.”
The webinar series will be hosted by industry experts Jesse Porter and Robbie Batts of InSpire Transpiration Solutions. Porter brings more than a decade of experience to his role as Cannabis Business Specialist where he helps cultivators mitigate risk and maximize profits. Batts is InSpire’s co-founder and Chief Technology Officer with expertise in designing, selling and commissioning HVAC systems for grow rooms. Porter and Batts will bring their breadth of knowledge in cultivation science and technology to guide the conversation and answer questions in real time.
“The 10 Cardinal Parameters of Plant Health and Vitality” will explore the 10 most important factors that influence plant growth and plant health, and the impact these factors have on plant transpiration and vapor pressure deficit (VPD). Understanding these cardinal parameters allows cultivators to manipulate VPD to optimize plant genetics, biomass, phenotype expression and other elements that influence product quality.
To register for the first webinar in the series, visit: https://webinar.ringcentral.com/webinar/register/WN_DEtcL5z3TCugSldekW1fPQ.
