Michael Aberle has 13 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance market and currently acts as program manager of the Cannabis Insurance Program at Next Wave Insurance Services, LLC in Rancho Cordova, CA.

Along with his extensive sales and marketing background, he designed the first “seed to sale” insurance program in 2009 for all medicinal and recreational cannabis and hemp in the U.S. and international operations . Mike also developed the first Crop and Product Liability policy forms covering bodily injury and property damage resulting from a cannabis related products.

In February 2015, meeting the rapid growth and evolution in the cannabis market, Mike launched a new insurance program with three of the top insurance companies in the world, designed to provide the most comprehensive coverage and increased limits available to the industry.

In 2007 and 2008, Mike expanded his risk management knowledge of cannabis related exposures by working in cultivation, manufacturing, and retail operations. Mike is the only known insurance executive in the country with this extensive experience. He is the bridge between insurance companies, brokers and cannabis business owners.
