Josh is a Co-Founder at SC Labs where he has served various functions over the past 15 years. Josh was one of the first scientists to commercially test medical marijuana while serving as Laboratory Director of Steephill Labs in 2008 and 2009 after which he left to found SC Labs in 2010. Through his various roles as President, Chief Operating Officer, and now Chief Compliance officer, Josh has been primarily responsible for managing technical operations and marketing at SC Labs. He has a background in analytical and synthetic chemistry. He serves on the U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP) Cannabis Expert Panel, is a founding member of the AOAC CASP advisory group for cannabis, has served on the Board of Directors of the California Cannabis Industry Association since 2022 where he is also the chair of the Quality Control Committee, he serves on the American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL) cannabis committee, as well as other cannabis and hemp trade association committees. He has been awarded multiple cannabis-based patents and has published various technical papers in regards to cannabis science.
