Cognitive Harmony Technologies Announces over $1 Million in Sponsored Services for 35 New Jersey Aspiring Cannabis Business Owners

Sponsees will receive free access to CHT’s software, live support and referral network to complete a successful cannabis business license application

Submissions to receive complimentary CHT services now open at https://cognitiveharmony.tech/sponsorship/

Chicago, Ill.– September 19, 2022 – Cognitive Harmony Technologies (CHT), a company designed to streamline the cannabis business license application process, today announced plans to sponsor up to 35 prospective cannabis business license applicants from underrepresented communities in the state of New Jersey as part of their CHT Accelerator Sponsorship Program. CHT will provide each selected applicant with a development and consultation package worth $30K (a total of $1 million worth of resources), including their game-changing platform – the CHT Accelerator –  at no cost, furthering their mission to make the industry more accessible to small businesses and communities impacted by the war on drugs.

“CHT was created to empower applicants who are typically discounted from the complex and convoluted business licensing process due to their lack of resources, investment capital or ability to afford a hundred-thousand-dollar consulting firm,” said CHT Co-founder and CEO Walter Moore, a software engineer who also co-founded the cannabis social equity incubator Perception Farms. “We want small business owners, scrappy start-ups and equity applicants who are passionate about the cannabis industry to thrive and avoid potential roadblocks, including a lack of capital. We’re excited to help our sponsored applicants pave their path of success, and open the door for a more equitable cannabis industry in New Jersey and beyond.”

The criteria for CHT sponsorships include that applicants must be starting a retail cannabis dispensary in New Jersey, and share CHT’s values of cannabis culture, the entrepreneurial spirit, and accessibility for all.  Priority will be given to those who demonstrate a rock-solid work ethic and determination to see the application through to submission.

Selected applicants, who will be announced December 1st 2022, will be inducted into CHT’s 8-week cohort and receive access to CHT’s full suite of software and services to compete effectively for a cannabis business license and build their company and brand, including:

  • The proprietary CHT Accelerator, which offers a master checklist and automates redundant processes, enabling applicants to submit without common mistakes like missing materials
  • CHT’s full network of referrals, including ancillary businesses across the supply chain
  • End-to-end application development and project management
  • Consulting throughout the entire application process

“The CHT team has been in your shoes, walking this path ourselves, from license applicant to retail, cultivation, and manufacturing operations,” said Chief Business Development Officer and CFO Charles Cherqui, a physicist who co-founded CHT with Moore after running into his own set of obstacles applying for a cannabis business license. “We want to share what we’ve learned and make the industry more accessible to passionate small business owners and up-and-coming entrepreneurs so the market isn’t saturated with large corporations and MSOs.”

Small Pre-Roll Producers Get Big Equipment Upgrade

Mobius Releases New Cannabis Grinder Based on Trickle-Down Tech

Las Vegas, NV — Mobius, a leading manufacturer of pharmaceutical-grade cannabis processing equipment, today released a scaled-down cannabis mill that delivers the precision and grind quality of industrial mills at a lower price point.

The newly released M60 Mill draws technology from Mobius’s flagship M210 Mill. Both utilize slow rotational speeds to reduce heat degradation, and precision cutting matrixes to maintain uniform particle sizes without THC loss.

Precision milling is important because an inconsistent grind can adversely affect how ground cannabis packs within the cone, how it burns, and if the cone breaks during transport or consumption.

In a crowded market sector like pre-rolls, brands need to deliver consistent quality to survive and thrive.

“We’re excited to fit full-scale technology into our Mobius M60 Mill,” said Amanda James, Director of Strategy at Mobius. “It empowers smaller pre-roll and extract producers to achieve a top-quality grind at a much lower price point.”

Conventional cannabis mills destroy high-value cannabinoids (e.g., THC) by creating unnecessary heat. Mobius mills use low-friction internal mechanisms that prevent temperature elevation to optimize potency and smokeability.

The Mobius M60 has the in-demand features of the flagship M210 Mill, including:

  • Low-friction rotational system for enhanced product preservation
  • Precision milling configurations for 1/16”, 1/8″ and 3/16” grind size
  • Tool-free disassembly and easy maintenance
  • GMP-readiness

The Mobius M60 Mill — which processes up to 20 pounds of dry cannabis flower per hour — will enable small and medium-sized pre-roll producers to thrive in the competitive and ever-expanding pre-roll market.

Smaller extract producers will also benefit because grind consistency improves cannabinoid-extraction completion rates, oil yield percentages, and revenue.

“At 20 pounds per hour, the Mobius M60 Mill will serve a wide range of established licenses, as well as market entrants looking to access the pre-roll niche,” said James. “We’re shipping the new units starting this week.

Cova will lead the in-person seminar to encourage and support social equity license applicants preparing to launch cannabis dispensaries in New Jersey or New York

FORT LEE, N.J., May 31, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Cova Software, an award-winning cannabis Point of Sale (POS) software company powering dispensaries across North America, announced the company is hosting a free seminar for social equity licensee applicants in New Jersey and New York on navigating the process of opening an adult-use cannabis dispensary.

Joining Gary Cohen, CEO of Cova Software, on stage to offer expertise will be Dr. Lucas McCann, Co-Founder of CannDelta, and Naomi Granger, Founder of the National Association of Cannabis Accounting and Tax Professionals. The group will share valuable lessons from years of success helping cannabis entrepreneurs across the country open dispensaries.

Topics covered by the seminar include eligibility criteria and how to get a cannabis retail license, critical compliance tips, operational best practices, key financial considerations, and how to budget for a profitable cannabis business, along with an optional demo of Cova’s user-friendly and compliance-focused dispensary software solutions.

How to Open a Dispensary in New York / New Jersey: Learn the Steps as a Social Equity License Applicant

  • Time: 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. ET
  • Location: Hyatt Place Fort Lee/George Washington Bridge, 2167 Rte 4 E, Fort Lee, NJ

Seminar Agenda:

  • 9:00-9:30 a.m. Coffee and Mingle
  • 9:30-10:15 a.m. Social Equity Program Overview, Eligibility, and Application Process
  • 10:15-11:00 a.m. Key Cost Considerations & How to Budget for Running a Dispensary
  • 11:15 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. The Basics of Cannabis Retail Compliance in NY/NJ

  • 1:30-2:30 p.m. Best Practices for Running a Cannabis Dispensary
  • 2:30-3:30 p.m. Optional Demo of Cova POS

New Jersey and New York have both emphasized the need for equity and inclusion in the cannabis industry from the very beginning by using a priority applications system for licensing. This creates an accessible path to owning a cannabis business for justice-involved individuals with previous cannabis convictions, members of communities disproportionately impacted by the enforcement of cannabis prohibition, minority-owned, women-owned businesses, distressed farmers, and service-disabled veterans.

“Cova applauds New Jersey and New York’s efforts to prioritize the inclusion of communities disproportionately impacted by cannabis prohibition in the industry’s continued success. We hope that more states are inspired to take similar regulatory actions,” said Cohen.

Cova developed the seminar to focus on equipping potential social equity applicants from either state with the knowledge and confidence needed to open and maintain a successful dispensary. Cannabis is a relatively brand new industry with nuanced regulations; guidance from experienced operators could be a competitive advantage in emerging state markets.

“Recognizing that advance access to more affordable licensing is a great start, we wanted to provide more support for the next steps,” said Cohen. We’re focusing on the insights, education, and financial literacy critical to opening and running a successful business. Giving future dispensary owners the value of educational resources and strategic takeaways proven successful in cannabis increases the longevity of ever-important social equity programs.”

Individuals attending will leave with an improved understanding of obtaining a cannabis business license for social equity businesses and knowledge about successful retail strategies that position stores for long-term success.

Item 9 Labs Corp. Signs Definitive Agreement to Acquire Sessions Cannabis, One of Canada’s Largest Cannabis Retail Franchisors

  • Transformative Acquisition Creates the Largest, Global and Publicly Traded Cannabis Franchise Company
  • Sessions Cannabis Generates Approximately CA$70 Million in Annual Systemwide Sales With 43 Stores Currently Open

PHOENIX (May 25, 2022) — Item 9 Labs Corp. (OTCQX: INLB) (the “Company”) — a vertically integrated cannabis dispensary franchisor and operator that produces premium, award-winning products — announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Sessions Cannabis (“Sessions”), one of Canada’s largest cannabis retail franchisors.

This is a transformative acquisition that fast-tracks our entry into the Canadian market and brings tremendous value to our shareholders,” said Item 9 Labs Corp. CEO Andrew Bowden. “With an exponential increase in store count across North America, this acquisition would transition us from being a multi-state operator to an international cannabis company and the largest global cannabis franchisor. The potential to accelerate growth through both franchising and additional opportunistic acquisitions is immense. This is simply the first step to much deeper market penetration, both in Ontario and other provinces.”

Founded in 2019, Sessions currently has 43 stores throughout the Province of Ontario, the majority of which are located in prime retail shopping centers, typically anchored by national tenants such as Costco, Walmart, well-known grocers, quick service restaurants and more. The Ontario-based business has a franchise system comprised of 18 franchisees, the majority of which are multi-unit owners, and plans to continue its growth across Canada with multiple openings already planned for this year. Sessions also anticipates it will continue its consistently strong performance.

Item 9 Labs Corp. acquired ONE Cannabis Group (“OCG Inc.”) in March 2021, the parent company to U.S. cannabis dispensary franchise, Unity Rd. – marking the Company the first national vertically integrated cannabis dispensary franchisor. The combination of the Unity Rd. franchise system—which currently has 20-plus partners developing more than three dozen stores across 10-plus U.S. states—with Sessions makes Item 9 Labs Corp. the largest global and publicly traded cannabis franchise company.

Canada, the world’s second-largest cannabis market, brought in CA$3.9 billion in cannabis sales in 2021, a 50 percent year-over-year growth, according to federal data agency Statistics Canada. Ontario is the country’s largest cannabis market with CA$1.47 billion in 2021 sales. According to BDSA, the Canadian market is expected to climb to $4.7 billion in 2022 and nearly $6.3 billion by 2026.

“The Canadian cannabis market has grown tremendously over the past few years, and we have certainly felt that impact and benefitted from first-mover advantage in several markets,” said Steven Fry, CEO and co-founder of Sessions, noting that Sessions’ locations that have been open for more than a year see an average annual revenue of CA$2.46 million. “We have amazing multi-unit franchisees and a solid franchise system that is dedicated to their success, but to further innovate within the industry and expand our reach, we need the right partner. We believe we have found that with Item 9 Labs Corp. and their franchise brand, Unity Rd.”

The Company’s Chief Franchise Officer Mike Weinberger agrees with Fry that this is the perfect synergy. He added, “From the brand values and education-first approach with customers to the rock-solid franchise program Steven and his team have built, there are several similarities across Sessions and our Unity Rd. franchise brand. This is a huge opportunity for Item 9 Labs Corp. and further solidifies our mark as leaders in cannabis franchising.”

The Company’s merger and acquisition activities for the 2022 calendar year have ramped up quickly. Item 9 Labs Corp. acquired a dispensary license and storefront in North Denver, Colorado and recently signed an Asset Purchase Agreement (“APA”) for a medicinal and recreational dispensary and cultivator, The Herbal Cure, also located in Denver. Colorado is among the top markets where Item 9 Labs Corp. is actively seeking acquisitions of cannabis dispensaries.

“We are serious about accelerating our growth and opening the doors for more prospective entrepreneurs to enter the complex cannabis space, and it is reflected in our merger and acquisition activity,” said the Company’s Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions, Mark Busch. “Acquiring one of Canada’s largest cannabis retailers is a great milestone for our team and demonstrates our ability to close large transactions.”

The closing of this acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, details of which can be found in the Company’s 8k filing on May 24, 2022.

Introducing Cognitive Harmony Technologies: New Platform Levels Playing Field for Cannabis Licenses

Digital Platform Launches for New Jersey Applicants; New York Pre-Sales Available

Chicago, Ill.– May 23, 2022 – Calling all cannabis start-ups and aspiring entrepreneurs! Today, Cognitive Harmony Technologies (CHT) announced the launch and rollout of the CHT Accelerator to streamline the cannabis business license application process, making it as simple as filing taxes online.  The company’s game-changing service and platform offers materials, resources, live support, and guidance by industry leaders through every part of the process to allow all applicants – regardless of the amount of investment capital – an alternative to compete effectively and at an affordable price, paving the way for a more equitable and just cannabis industry where small businesses have a fair shake.

Like most disruptive technologies, Co-Founders, software engineer Walter Moore and physicist Charles Cherqui, founded CHT when they ran into their own set of obstacles. When launching their own cannabis company and social equity incubator, Perception Farms, the application process was not only intimidating, but most applicants were set up for rejection from the beginning, even in states whose laws include restorative justice components.  “One mistake. Come back in two years,” said Walter Moore, CHT Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer. This set the stage for the creation and need for the CHT Accelerator, which uses AI and machine learning algorithms to streamline the process to create a competitive application. The software automates redundant processes, enabling applicants to submit without missing materials or making other common mistakes.

The CHT Accelerator is now available for New Jersey cannabis business license applicants. Pre-sales for New York applicants are also available, with expansion into additional states’ licensed markets rolling out later this year.

“Producing a compliant application typically requires an expensive consulting service that can cost upwards of $150K, creating a huge gap between the goodwill of legislators passing social equity laws and equitable cannabis business ownership,” Moore said. “The CHT Accelerator is designed to level the playing field to support social equity initiatives and bring change to an industry which has historically whitewashed the past injustices served in its former prohibition.”

The CHT Accelerator provides applicants with a master checklist, automated templates and live chat features that guide the submission and is much more affordable than its hundred-thousand-dollar-plus competitors: CHT charges $30K for general applicants and $15K for social equity applicants, with additional opportunities for significant discounts, including their offer of a 20 percent discount on pre-sales until June 30, 2022.

“As a cannabis business license owner, I know just how difficult it is to put together a competitive application. We developed the CHT Accelerator to help lower the barrier of entry for others willing to put in the hard work of assembling an application, but who would otherwise be priced out of the competition,” said Charles Cherqui, Co-Founder and Chief Business Development Officer.

The dispensary was designed to create a differentiated and welcoming customer experience with careful consideration given to ensure customer flow, easy-to-browse product displays and point of sale stations for speed of service and retail convenience. In addition to the retail space up front, the dispensary includes private consultation rooms for medical patients to discuss their needs with staff, secure vaults for inventory storage, back-office space, and a highly-advanced security system.

“Cannabis Facility Construction was a strategic design-build choice for us,” said Kevin Gibbs, Senior Vice President of Operations at Harvest Care Medical and Co-Founder of Merida Capital Holdings, a leading private equity fund in the medical cannabis space. “CFC’s extensive experience has positively supported our business and will allow us to efficiently start serving customers all across West Virginia in the near future.”

Ebee Management Group is Changing the Landscape of Cannabis Industry Financing

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: Josef Pipoly, Ebee Management Group
Phone: (419) 944-8192
Email: Jpipoly@ebeeco.com

April 28th, 2022 – The cannabis industry is booming. Legal cannabis sales reached a record $19.5 billion in 2020 and are expected to increase to over $30 billion in 2022. With this incredible growth comes the opportunity for cannabis organizations to expand – building new facilities and retrofitting their existing facilities. But there remains a gap between the demand for additional grow facilities and sales locations and the ease with which cannabis organizations can qualify for and receive financing for these projects.

Meet Ebee Management Group: the nation’s leader in C-PACE cannabis financing. The organization is nationally recognized for its abilities in educating, underwriting, structuring, and funding cannabis projects in a way that reduces transaction friction. Ebee’s proprietary process reduces the borrower’s capital costs by nearly 50% compared to industry standards.

Ebee’s launch into the cannabis market started when it facilitated the financing of the first C-PACE-funded new construction cannabis grow and processing facility in Michigan in 2020. This $50 million state-of-the-art facility has set a new standard for the cannabis industry as demand for high-quality cannabis explodes across the nation.

The cannabis industry offers a prime opportunity for the Ebee team to provide full-cycle financing and implementation of commercial projects to companies that would typically see huge financing hurdles for their development projects. “Ebee believes in fair and equitable business practices, and cannabis is an industry where owners are accustom to term sheets with double digit interest rates, loaded with covenants – that’s unnecessarily punitive, and it has to stop,” says Mariah Peake, President of Ebee Management Group.

From an underwriting perspective, the cannabis industry is home to innovative, viable companies with substantial real estate and even stronger sponsors with deep institutional knowledge. Ebee’s experienced team saw an opportunity to support these organizations – and has built incredible partnerships as a result. Ebee is working with boutique cultivators and many of the most notable MSOs (multi-state operators) in the industry, who have learned that Ebee provides them access to affordable financing, plus resources to support their process and management of projects along the way.

The competitive advantage of working with Ebee Management Group is undeniable. The organization prides itself on providing a full-service, process approach to analyzing, financing, engineering, and managing commercial projects in the cannabis market and beyond. Ebee’s team is dedicated to helping clients achieve positive cash flow for their facility upgrades while saving time, energy, and resources. “We recognize that not all companies need financing,” says Managing Partner Josef Pipoly, “but most leaders understand good leverage, and with the terms we are showing them, they can’t help but see the value.”

Regarding current and upcoming projects, Ebee is currently closing five cannabis transactions in Q2 2022 alone – for a total of $27 million in funded transactions. By the end of 2022, Ebee’s team is expected to close $100 million in cannabis transactions.

“Ebee is just getting started in this industry,” says Josef. “We have nine figures of committed capital ready to deploy under Ebee’s guidance.”

Today, Ebee is an emerging leader in the cannabis industry and holds multiple leadership positions within the NCIA (National Cannabis Industry Association) in Banking and Finance, Education, and Facilities and Design. In 2021, they were awarded the Commercial Cannabis Award by Global Health & Pharma Magazine for their innovations in Cannabis Financing Solutions across the U.S.

The Ebee team is scheduled to keynote on Cannabis Finance at multiple upcoming tradeshows and events in Las Vegas, San Francisco, and Detroit. Contact us to learn more about upcoming events, including Ebee’s discussion panel with the leadership of major MSO – Curaleaf.

“Great Resignation” Creates Cannabis Labor Shortages

Canadian Cultivator Takes New Approach to Employee Retention

Las Vegas, NV, April 26, 2022: — Unfilled jobs in the food-service and hospitality industries are making it difficult for cannabis companies to retain entry-level employees, prompting some cultivators to change how they operate to gain a competitive advantage in the labor market.

Safari Flower Co. — a licensed cannabis producer in Ontario’s Niagara region — is combating the so-called “Great Resignation” with automated processing equipment from Mobius, a cannabis automation and technology firm.

Implementing their new automation equipment enabled Safari to reduce the amount of time spent on trimming by approximately 75% and improve working conditions for the processing team. The net result has been a smaller and happier workforce with the ability to apply compensation programs based on meeting production efficiencies.

“The impact of technology and automation on our labor force has been very well-recognized as a retention strategy,” said Brigitte Simons, Safari’s Chief Executive Officer.

Before bringing automation to their processing operations, Safari would require two 8-hour shifts to buck and trim each harvest. The procedure involved separating the flowers from the stalks by hand and trimming each cannabis flower with scissors — a task that led to boredom, repetitive strain injuries, and high staff turnover.

The non-progressive, manual trimming procedures strained Safari’s labor force as it could not incrementally increase the company’s working capital towards employee compensation planning due to the lengthy inventory processing cycles. Further influenced by increasing wages in other regional job sectors, staff desired to participate in procedures under constant improvements.

Now, with the new Mobius processing system, tasks are more ergonomic and engaging. Even better, the harvest has gone from 5 days down to just one day.

Thanks to mechanical buckers (machines that separate the flowers and leaves from the stalks) and a high-speed trimming system that includes infeed and quality control conveyors, Safari has reduced repetitive strain injuries and increased employee satisfaction.

“If you can give your employees technology that brings value back to the operators, you will have a sustainable, committed workforce that will come every day with dedication to your efficiency measures,” said Simons.

Royal 4 Systems Forms Strategic Partnership with Arise Cannabis

LONG BEACH, CA. – Royal 4 Systems, a leading cloud-based WMS, Seed-to-Sale, ERP and POS for Cannabis businesses, announced today that their platform will automate the following at Arise Cannabis: point-of-sale,  B2B wholesale distribution, cultivation, processing, manufacturing, reporting and METRC compliance.

Salespeople pick up a predefined inventory from the warehouse to deliver to the dispensaries that is tracked and recorded via METRC ID. Warehouse and salespeople log status via mobile devices. Royal 4 engineers are also providing in-depth cannabis knowledge, and unlike other implementations where outside 3rd party consultants are used, Royal 4 engineers are in-house, factory-trained employees which ensures a successful implementation.

According to Dan Haggard, Arise Director of Operations, before engaging Royal 4 and their Cannabis solution, spreadsheets ruled the day from managing space, work in process, strain/tissue culture and inventory replenishment. Arise needed an easier way to track inventory, eliminate the on-the-fly inventory management for its sales reps and create a dashboard for owner and investor viewing. “The main goal was to eliminate the manual drudgery of maintaining and supporting spreadsheets in order to free up more time to manage the business and be able to proactively plan hot strains and customer demand”, said Haggard.

Jess Noguera, President of Royal 4 Systems says, “The ROI on our warehouse management software is usually less than one year. Our customers have realized as high as 99 percent inventory accuracy and a 25 percent increase in warehouse efficiency resulting in room for growth without having to add additional people. This  represents a significant impact to the P&L bottom line each and every year.”

About Royal 4 Systems, Inc. – Since 1984 Royal 4 Systems has been providing leading software solutions for the supply chain. With customer and industry direction, Royal engineers have focused on designing the definitive warehouse management solution. Royal 4’s staff of professional engineers has spent decades on research and development solving some of the most difficult challenges facing the supply chain industry. They  know from years of experience what their client’s requirements are and they strive to fulfill their customers’ requirements in every aspect of their work. Cannabis, Silica and NFTs: shaping a new green economy.

“The best defense against pests and pathogens is to provide a healthy, productive soil microbiome.” Dr. Av Singh

Morganics.io is employing a new way of launching its patent pending Silica based soil technology into the marketplace. The NFT (Non-Fungible Token) Crypto economy provides a largely untapped opportunity for engagement and Morganics is helping to create an innovative Discord community that will offer veterans, first responders and trauma victims access to cannabis-based treatment, therapies and support.

With our focus on plant and human health, the corporate relationship between Morganics and our NFT partner, Baked Blue Jays, creates a virtuous circle, enabling new cannabis related innovations and therapies to be available worldwide, in real time. This new Crypto cannabis economy and community will provide over 200,000 members access to a large variety of cannabis wellness and growing seminars including blogs and educational programs.

Interested parties can go to our website www.morganics.io where they will be directed to our NFT partner www.bakedbluejays.io to join Discord and learn more about this exciting new program.

“We want to help veterans and cannabis growers to produce the healthiest crops they can. Cannabis is often grown with synthetic ingredients or chemicals that find their way into the plant- not ideal. We’ve created an organic patent-pending alternate technology that fights numerous soil borne pathogens, but in an organic and chemical-free way,” explains Greg Marsh, founder and President of Morganics. “From increased yields to a 12% reduction of water and nutrients needed, our new technology offers growers many valuable benefits”.

How does it work?
Morganics is a patent-pending technology that enables plants, especially cannabis, to respond with increased yields, better quality, and much higher immune functions. A 96% pure heavy metal-free grade silica, when combined with Morganics engineered bacteria and mycorrhizae instantly becomes ‘plant-available’. Morganics is a very potent bio-stimulant and silica is a known SAR elicitor, which has been proven to reduce multiple pathogens in crops.

Dr. Av Singh, Cannabis Consultant at Flemming & Singh Cannabis, explains why the Morganics product is so unique. “Silica is one of the most underrated biostimulants for immune function and plant defense against pathogens and insects. Morganics provides silica in a readily available form allowing plants to use it as soon as the powdery mildew germination tube is trying to penetrate the cell wall. Finding a source of plant-available silica that is accepted under organic standards that is not high in heavy metals is near impossible, so the regenerative organic practices employed to create Morganics technology is a win-win-win scenario.”

With the goal of helping as many growers and users of cannabis as possible to grow clean, healthy and chemical-free plants, the company has been doing research collaborations on their product’s efficacy with a range of institutional third parties like  Niagara College and corporate partners like Artiva Limited, Apollo Green Inc. and Aleafia Health Corp.; these extensive 3rd party trials verified our proof of concept.

As more countries legalize cannabis products and the industry grows, we will be there to participate and help build a vibrant community.

The Company is offering 28 million Units Each Comprised of One Share and One-Half of One Warrant. Upon the exercise of all warrants, the offering has maximum proceeds of $67.2 million.

With new states continuing to legalize cannabis, the industry is on track to explode – projecting $45 billion in revenue by 2025, a 50 percent increase from 2021*. As large players increasingly dominate the space, the business landscape will become even more challenging for new and independent entrepreneurs. The complexities of operating a cannabis business make it difficult for small, independent dispensaries to understand and stay on top of all the varying regulations and everyday challenges of managing and operating a compliant and successful dispensary.

The Company’s offering is set to accelerate the solution. Promoted under its “Keep Cannabis Local” campaign, this funding round offers the opportunity to invest in cannabis entrepreneurship, keeping the door to cannabis ownership open to industry newcomers and existing operators alike.

Eagle Protect Sounds Alarm on Supply Chain Contamination

U.S. glove supplier’s testing and analysis reveals high level of glove contaminants

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (Feb. 21, 2022) – Eagle Protect, the world’s only B Corp certified disposable glove and PPE supplier, found at least 10 different enterotoxigenic strains of Bacillus cereus contamination on new and unused single-use gloves during its independent testing of 26 different brands. These findings are of note because the Bacillus microbe was found responsible for a recent recall of meat products, triggered by testing from the U.S. Department of Defense.

Eagle Protect’s findings, combined with the meat recall notice, has prompted the company to issue an urgent warning to the food handling industry on the hidden risks of not just chemical but also significant microbial single-use glove contamination in the existing supply chain. It’s estimated that Bacillus cereus is the fifth-leading cause of foodborne illness, with over 60,000 cases each year. Other pathogens identified on gloves that may represent significant public health hazards for glove users or food establishments included Listeria monocytogenes, Clostridoides difficile, Staphylococcus aureusPseudomonas aeruginosaStreptococcus pneumoniae and Bacillus anthracis (Anthrax).

“In the case of food recalls, the key concern which needs to be addressed is the source of contamination,” said Steve Ardagh, CEO of Eagle Protect. “At what stage of the food supply chain is the contamination occurring? Since glove factories supplying the U.S. food industry are not subjected to rigorous FDA monitoring or scrutiny, and few controls are required in relation to the reliability and consistency of raw material ingredients, manufacturing processes, cleanliness, and factory compliance, are food companies exposing their supply chain to an increased risk of contamination, outbreaks, and recalls?”

The preliminary testing results of Eagle Protect’s third-party glove analysis also identified a significant number of other foodborne illness pathogens on many of the new and unused gloves tested. The results included numerous Bacillus cereus strains found on gloves containing combinations of virulent cytotoxic and emetic toxins. These and other findings from Eagle’s glove analysis, spanning a four-year period, were previously presented at the 2019 and 2021 International Association of Food Protection (IAFP) conferences, with additional results to be published in the coming months. The scope of the independent testing was conducted on approximately 3,000 glove samples of new and unused FDA food-compliant and medically approved gloves for various factors including pathogen loading.

To date, the results have identified over 250 different microbial species, bonafide fecal indicators, and nearly two-dozen food and cutaneous pathogens, found on both the interior and exterior glove surfaces

The FDA Food Code for disposable gloves (FDA Title 21, Part 177) does not specifically require gloves to be intact, clean, or sanitary, and require no testing upon arrival in the U.S.

“A significant amount of trust is being placed in the hands of manufacturers, the majority of which are based in southeast Asia,” said Ardagh. “But in some cases, our testing has revealed this trust may be misplaced based on the extensive glove analysis results soon to be published.”

A recent recall, due to chemicals transmitted from food safe gloves, is one such case in which the source of contamination was traced back to gloves. It’s a pressing concern for the industry, with negative consequences for both the bottom line and brand reputation, not to mention the health and safety of consumers and glove users. According to a study conducted by GMA, Covington & Burling LLP, and Ernst & Young, the average financial cost of each food recall is over $10 million.

Additional preventive controls are necessary to protect the food supply from glove cross-contamination. This risk to the U.S. food industry can be mitigated if suppliers partner with manufacturers who adhere to consistent, high standards of manufacturing and raw material quality and hygiene practices. Reliable and frequent quality assurance, coupled with routine auditing practices ensure the highest standards of food-safety performance and consistent manufacturing processes. For further information on Eagle Protect and their glove analysis, visit www.eagleprotect.com.

About Eagle Protect

Eagle Protect was founded in 2006 by Steve Ardagh and Lynda Ronaldson, whose purpose has focused on the responsible sourcing of quality products, improving their customers’ food safety and mitigating single-use glove risks. Eagle’s proprietary independent glove analysis tests for cleanliness (microbial and fungal contaminants), chemicals and toxins, durability, and cross-contamination potential, ensuring their gloves adhere to the highest level of food safety performance and quality.

Unity Rd.’s Chief Franchise Officer to Present at International Franchise Association’s 2022 Convention

Dispensary Franchise Represents First of Its Kind at Annual Event, Presents on the Value of the Franchise Business Model

PHOENIX (February 21, 2022) Unity Rd., the first true vertically integrated cannabis dispensary franchise from Item 9 Labs Corp. (OTCQX: INLB), continues to establish itself as a rising trailblazer in franchising. The first brand of its kind to become an International Franchise Association (IFA) member, Chief Franchise Officer Mike Weinberger will be presenting on Sunday, February 27 at 10:30 a.m. PST in the ‘Education Track’ of the organization’s annual convention.

Weinberger’s presentation, “Cannabis and Franchising: The Perfect Match,” will share insight on how franchising has made its way into cannabis, providing attendees with an inside look at the roadmap to franchising this type of concept, the value it brings to franchising and future industry growth.

“The franchise business model has proven itself to help current and future entrepreneurs succeed across various industries, but there has been little to no true presence from the cannabis industry in franchising until recently,” said Weinberger, who has 20 years of franchising experience. “Sharing thought leadership and industry trends in the rapidly evolving cannabis industry at the IFA Convention is an important step in educating industry leaders and acknowledges society’s increasing acceptance of cannabis enterprises.”

The brand’s Vice President of Communications, Jayne Levy, is also facilitating a Thought Leadership Roundtable session on the topic “Building Your Brand: For the Start-Up Franchisor.”

The IFA’s Annual Convention is regarded as the most prestigious event for the franchise community and geared toward new and existing franchisors, franchisees and suppliers. The conference provides them with the latest news in the industry and helps build a community with others to match unique learning styles for potential growth and to maximize business development. In addition to Unity Rd., attendees will have the opportunity to hear from other franchise leaders such as Marco’s Pizza and Unleashed Brands.

“Cannabis is a 25-plus billion dollar a year industry that is still in its infancy,” added Levy. “IFA’s Annual Convention is the perfect opportunity for us to share the economic value of franchising brings and why now is the right time to get involved in the rapidly growing space. The franchise model is the solution to keeping dispensary ownership local and Unity Rd. is the one leading the charge.”

Unity Rd. is the first to truly franchise cannabis dispensaries on a national scale in the U.S. Launched in 2018, the cannabis franchise has franchised shops in operation in Boulder, Colorado and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and multiple agreements signed with nearly 20 entrepreneurial groups who are in various stages of development nationwide.

The complexities of operating a cannabis business make it difficult for small, independent dispensaries to understand and stay on top of all the varying regulations and everyday challenges of managing and operating a compliant and successful dispensary. The Unity Rd. franchise opportunity provides a solution for industry newcomers and small, locally owned and operated dispensaries to compliantly thrive, thanks to the robust backing and support of a national franchise.

The dispensary franchise is actively seeking qualified partners who would benefit from the systems, processes and ongoing support the franchise offers. To learn more about the Unity Rd. franchise opportunity, contact franchise@unityrd.com, call 720-923-5262 or visit unityrd.com.

Zerotrillion Earns Grand Clio Cannabis Award for Flowr Cannabis ‘Nothing to Hide’ Brand Film

NEW YORK—(December 7, 2021)— Clio Cannabis, the awards competition celebrating creators at the forefront of cannabis marketing and communications, today announced the winners of its third annual program. Zerotrillion’s “Nothing to Hide” spot for Flowr Cannabis won the competition’s highest honor, the Grand Clio Cannabis Award, in the Film/Video medium. Other big winners include McCann Health Sao Paulo for Ease Labs, Mischief @ No Fixed Address for Monogram, Green Thumb Industries, CANN and Puffco.

“Cannabis is legal in Canada, but too many folks still stash it away when Mom comes to visit,” said Adam Fierman, Global Creative Director, Zerotrillion. “That’s the truth that sparked ‘Nothing to Hide’. Lawmakers change laws, but it takes society to change culture. So we created this brand spot for Flowr to be a nostalgic tour of stash spots, secret compartments and hideaways set to Millie Jackson’s killer 1974 track ‘I’m Tired of Hiding.’ The message is clear. It’s time for all of us to leave the hiding in the past.”

Zerotrillion and the other winners of the 2021 Clio Cannabis Awards are being honored today during a streaming event on Social Club TV airing concurrent to this release and available on-demand here. The ceremony, hosted by Tammy Pettigrew, features appearances by 2021 Clio Cannabis Lifetime Achievement Award honoree Willie Nelson, 2021 Honorary Clio Cannabis Award recipient Fab 5 Freddy and other influencers from the cannabis community.

High honors, in the form of the Gold Clio Cannabis Award, were bestowed on the following entries:

  • Experience/Activation—Shine & Polish for Charlotte’s Web with “Going The Distance Vending Machine”
  • Film/Video: 61 seconds to 5 minutes—Puffco’s “Peak Pro Opal”
  • Film/Video Craft: Animation—The Nug Nation for Hempire with Hemp In History: Abraham Lincoln
  • Film/Video Craft: Cinematography—Zerotrillion for Flowr Cannabis with “Nothing to Hide”
  • Film/Video Craft: Editing—Zerotrillion for Flowr Cannabis with “Nothing to Hide”
  • Film/Video Craft: Editing—Charlotte’s Web’s “Seed To Shelf (LOFT Video)”

  • Integrated Campaign—Puffco’s “Budsy”
  • Print & Out Of Home Craft: Photography—McCann Health Sao Paulo for Ease Labs with “Cannabis Science”

“Our juries were extremely selective this year,” said Michael Kauffman, Executive Director, Clio Cannabis. “The creative leaders in the cannabis space keep raising the bar so high that it’s become a lot more challenging to ‘wow’ our panel of experts and that is reflected in the caliber of work that was awarded this cycle.”

“We’re so proud to be able to recognize the incredible creative growth that this industry is rapidly undergoing, and we enthusiastically celebrate everyone who has had a hand in driving the positive changes we’re seeing across the marketing and communications space,” Kauffman continued.

“Cannabis Science Fair” Event Will Showcase Efforts to Expand What We Know About Marijuana

MCR Labs’ inaugural “Cannabis Science Fair” at the Boston University BUild Lab on Dec. 11 will feature research projects from leading commercial and academic institutions.

BOSTON, Mass. – Local cannabis testing leader MCR Labs is partnering with the Cannabis Center of Excellence (CCoE) and Innovate@BU to host “The Cannabis Science Fair,” a first-of-its-kind event meant to showcase the work of institutions striving to expand our understanding of cannabis through research and analytical explorations.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature poster presentations from commercial and academic institutions like SCIEX, Skell Labs, the University of Vermont, Harvard University and more. A keynote address on the importance of expanding cannabis research will be given by Harvard Medical School and MGH Primary Care Physician Dr. Peter Grinspoon, and several additional Massachusetts cannabis experts and researchers will address attendees throughout the event.

“Research restrictions continue to limit what we can know for certain about cannabis, so our goal with events like this is to inform the public with data and evidence-based insights,” said Michael Kahn, MCR Labs founder and CEO. “Promoting current research efforts helps chip away at the stigma around cannabis by highlighting the important and credible work being done to expand our understanding of the plant’s potential.”

MCR Labs provides product compliance testing to licensed cannabis producers, but advancing research efforts is an important part of the company’s mission. Proceeds generated by event sponsorships from analytical testing suppliers bioMérieuxBio-Rad, and SCIEX, as well as donations being accepted during the event, will go towards funding future research and advocacy initiatives led by the CCoE, MCR Labs’ community partner for “The Cannabis Science Fair.”

“It’s not exactly surprising, but we’re still thrilled at this level of interest from businesses and researchers for a cannabis-focused event at an institution of higher education,” said Marion McNabb, CCoE founder and president. “Seeing so many abstracts and innovation submissions shows the need to shine a spotlight on the latest in cannabis science.”

“The Cannabis Science Fair” will be held at the Boston University BUild Lab IDG Capital Student Innovation Center on Saturday, Dec. 11 from 1 to 5 p.m. Anyone interested in learning more, sponsoring, or attending the event can find details on the event website.

The Cannabis Industry Leader Adds Another Tool to its Extensive Collection of Processing Machines

Spokane, WA — October 26, 2021: STM Canna, a leading manufacturer of processing machines for cannabis production, announced the latest addition to its line of offerings at MJBizCon 2021 last week: The STM Atomic Closer. The automated pre-roll machine will be the first modular and compact unit on the market, enabling sellers to propel their production cycles further than ever before.

The Atomic Closer is the only auto closing system available designed to incorporate the human touch for a true premium quality look and feel. This unique machine folds joints with a neat crown fold or dimple, instead of a twist, resulting in a much more professional looking pre-rolled joint which burns evenly.

Of the company’s latest announcement, a spokesperson for STM Canna commented, “Despite being a relatively small and affordable machine, the STM Atomic Closer packs an impressive punch through its incredible output capabilities. Compared to similar products on the market — which can cost up to seven figures, are complex to use and take up an entire room — this is a one-of-a-kind solution that will save people money, time, and labor requirements. It’s small, modular, footprint allows for simple operation, easy cleaning and infinite expandability options. Without a doubt, the STM Atomic Closer is a game-changer for the cannabis industry.”

Thanks to its ultra-compact size, the Atomic Closer can be used on tabletops across all facility types. Some unique features buyers can expect to enjoy when using the innovative machine include:

-The fastest production rate in the industry: 72 joints every 40 seconds.
-A daily capacity of more than 41,000 pre-rolls.
-An efficient folding technique that still captures the feel of human touch in every product.
-Simple operation and easy cleaning saves time and money.
-Compatible with the STM RocketBox line of commercial pre-roll machines and others.

The STM Atomic Closer is also OSHA compliant, so producers can rest easy knowing they don’t have to sacrifice safety for optimum efficiency. And, with an industry leading two-year warranty included, this powerful, USA-built pre-roll closing machine is perfect for any facility. The Atomic Closer is part of STM Canna’s growing catalog of products and turnkey processing systems.

About STM Canna: Since its establishment in 2017, STM Canna Corp. has remained the cannabis industry’s most trusted supplier of commercial pre-roll machines and bespoke cannabis grinders. With clients across 39 U.S. States and numerous international markets, the corporation is a preferred partner for a range of businesses, from small producers to the world’s largest, most well-known hemp and marijuana brands. Its latest product launch, the STM Atomic Closer, redefined industry standards by providing the best automated pre-roll machine capabilities available on the market.
