Representative Lou Lang (D) was appointed to the Illinois House in 1987 for the 16th District, and has served Skokie and parts of other northwest suburbs of Chicago since. In 2013, Representative Lang sponsored House Bill 1, creating the Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program.
