Frequently Asked Questions

When should I arrive?

It is advised you arrive in advance of the evening Welcome Reception for NCIA’s Lobby Days taking place on Tuesday, May 14 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.

When should I leave?

There will be a shorter day of meetings on Thursday, May 16th. Please feel free to leave after 2:30pm that day. Of course, if you need to leave earlier, just let the NCIA team know.

Where will Lobby Days events be taking place?

All Lobby Days meetings throughout the day on May 15 and 16 will be taking place within several buildings surrounding the U.S. Capitol. Locations for networking functions and training are still being planned but will be located within 2 miles from the Capitol Building.

When will I get my schedule?

Our team is scheduling meetings up until the last moment possible! As a result, you can expect to get your schedule, team assignments, and meeting details at the start of the event.

Will there be training?

Yes, there will be lobbying training provided by NCIA’s government relations team. Live webinars will occur on Tuesday, May 7th at 12pm ET and Thursday, May 9th at 3pm ET.

If you are unable to participate, the webinar slides will be available for viewing here once they have concluded. In addition to the webinars, there will be a brief, mandatory training session in the morning of Wednesday, May 15.

Will I get to meet any Members of Congress?

If you want to meet some of the cannabis industry’s legislative champions, you won’t want to miss our Closing Celebration on Wednesday, May 15th.

Members of Congress are extremely busy, so don’t expect to meet your Congressional representatives in person during your Lobby Days meetings. Meetings with congressional staffers are just as important — if not more important — than meetings with Senators and Representatives themselves.

Will I be lobbying with other cannabis professionals?

Yes, all Lobby Day participants will be broken up into small “teams” who will stay together during our Capitol Hill meetings.
